Why is it important to have DSB certificate?

DSB certificate allows you to work in Norway on the position of electrician. It confirms that skills which you obtained in Poland are consistent with Norwegian requirements. DSB certificate is obligatory. It will help you to find job. It is important to know that electricians have the highest salaries in building branch.

Who can obtain DSB certificate?

You can obtain DSB certificate if you have polish electrical certificates and obtained diploma/title as an electrician/wireman. You will not get DSB certificate if you do not have polish electrical certificate.

What is needed to get DSB certificate?

Every electrician who is going to work in Norway, has to send application to DSB. The application will be processed by DSB, which assumes all qualifications of the candidate on the base of Norwegian law.

Documents which you need to prepare to get DSB certificate:

CV which includes personal data, contact data, education and experience in the position who want to work in Norway
Copy of passport/ID
Copy of the original of school report or diploma from the education, including a list of subjects, transcript of grades
Copy of the original certificate of completed apprenticeship contract
Copy of the original trade certificate in electrical subjects, craft certificate, journeyman certificate or other attestation of competence to the profession in the question
Copy of original references from current or former employers as proof of at last one year practical experience in the profession during the previous 10 years after graduation (practical experience in the profession in question must be from another country outside Norway)

You can also attach certificates that can help you to get DSB certificate.

All documents (except for CV and ID/passport) have to be translated into English or Norwegian by sworn translator. DSB suggests that translation should be in English. If you need help with translation of documents, contact us.
